  • Tai Chi is often described as "meditation in motion," and there is growing evidence that this mind-body practice, which originated in China as a martial art, has value in treating and preventing many health problems.

Considered an internal martial art, it is a form of self-defense and an effective way to improve one's overall health when practiced properly.

Tai Chi helps one to achieve equilibrium of body, mind and spirit, enabling one to "unite with the cosmos.” It relieves stress and helps cure diseases resulting from physical and emotional imbalances.

It is a low-impact, slow-motion exercise - as you move, you breathe deeply and naturally, focusing your attention — as in some kinds of meditation — on your bodily sensations. Tai Chi differs from other types of exercise in several respects.

The movements are usually circular and never forced, the muscles are relaxed rather than tensed, the joints are not fully extended or bent, and connective tissues are not stretched. Tai Chi can be easily adapted for anyone.

  • Wednesdays @ 10:00am - 11:15am

    Fridays @ 10:00am – 11:15am

  • A typical class includes a group warm-up, stretching, foundational stances and learning and practicing Tai Chi forms.

With consistent practice and training, you will begin to notice positive shifts in all aspects, including improved posture and alignment, increased energy, strength, flexibility and balance, improved moods as well as inner calm and peace.

Wear loose, comfortable clothing and ideally, flat-soled shoes.
